How Much Does EV Charger Installation Cost in Wakefield?
Published 27 April 2026
The cost of EV charger installation in Wakefield depends on the unit you choose, the distance from your fuse board to the parking space, and whether any electrical upgrades are needed. Most homeowners pay between £900 and £1,400 fully fitted — but with smart planning that figure can drop significantly. This guide explains every cost line, how to avoid the expensive surprises, and what a NAPIT-registered installer like Knox Power & Data should be charging in 2026.
What Affects EV Charger Installation Cost?
The unit itself is only one factor. Cable run length, consumer unit upgrades, earthing arrangement, and whether you need load management all influence the final bill. A short, simple install on a modern home can be done in a morning; an awkward run through a rendered wall takes longer and costs more.

How long does installation take?
Typically 3–5 hours for a standard home install in Wakefield.

Not always. We assess your existing board and only upgrade if it's outdated or full.
